Agua de Sandía

Ingredients

6 cups watermelon, cut into cubes

2 cups cold water

1 cup cubed ice

Directions

  1. Wash and cut the watermelon into large cubes.

  2. Add the water and watermelon to the blender. Blend for about one minute until smooth.

  3. For little to no pulp, use a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to strain the liquid into a pitcher. If using a high-powered blender, straining shouldn’t be necessary.

  4. Pour the drink into a pitcher or bottle. Add 1 cup of ice and stir. Do not add too much ice as this will dilute the flavor and sweetness.

  5. Place the container in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour until it’s nice and cold.

  6. Store any leftover drink in an airtight bottle or other container for up to 3 days. The pulp will settle at the bottom so give the bottle a quick shake before serving.
