Registered Dietitian (Spanish-Speaking)

About Bento

Bento is on a mission to improve the healthcare outcomes and overall quality of life for low income community members. Over half of all adults in the US have a nutrition related chronic disease, such as diabetes, hypertension or heart disease, disproportionately impacting low income community members. Despite the best intentions of disease management programs, food banks and government assistance programs, the myriad of solutions aimed at low income community members have not been sufficient to effectively engage this population in a way that has improved population health outcomes, which have only gotten worse, not better. Bento is taking a new approach.

Bento provides members with stigma-free access to convenient and nutritious food that has been curated by a team of Bento registered dietitians and delivered by grocery stores in the community. This not only improves our members’ overall quality of life, but also generates the trust and consistency needed for Bento to then connect and engage them with the critical healthcare resources needed to improve their health outcomes.

As a covered Medicaid/Medicare service, Bento is rapidly expanding access to millions of eligible at-risk community members through partnerships with state and county health plans.

Bento Nutrition Department

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide telephonic nutrition counseling to health plan members as part of a program to support access to Medically Tailored Groceries (MTGs). In this role, you will assess nutritional needs, deliver personalized guidance, and help members meet clinical eligibility requirements for MTG services. You’ll also support our team in conducting systematic, evidence-based reviews and supporting program-specific projects as needed. This is a contract position, and we are looking for someone who can provide at least 24 hours/week. There’s potential for it to convert into a full-time opportunity. We’re looking for someone who’s ready to jump in now and is excited about the possibility of growing with the team if the fit is right.
