Bento is on a mission to improve healthcare outcomes and quality of life for low income community members through integrated personalized nutrition, health coaching, and care navigation services. We use nutritious groceries curated by a team of Registered Dietitians and delivered by grocery stores in the community as a catalyst to establish trust and engagement with the healthcare system.

As a covered Medicaid/Medicare service, Bento is focused on expanding access to eligible at-risk patients through partnerships with state and county health plans and private health insurers.

About The Role

We're looking for a number of mission-driven contractors to play a critical role in solidifying Bento’s presence in the state of New York. You will be responsible for building and nurturing a pipeline of member referring organizations. This is a field-based role for self-starters who thrive on in-person relationship building and can effectively communicate Bento's mission to diverse stakeholders.

  • Capital Region, Albany area / Central Region, Syracuse area

  • Hudson Valley 

  • Long Island 

  • The Bronx 

  • Staten Island

Contractor Responsibilities

  • Clearly articulate Bento's mission and value proposition to potential partners

  • Attend regional convenings, community events, and in-person meetings

  • Build high-quality B2B referral channels through in-person relationship building with CBOs 

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and qualify partner leads through outbound calling, email, social media, and in-person networking

  • Travel regularly within your territory to meet partners where they are

  • Utilize CRM tools to manage partnership pipeline from lead to active partner

  • Monitor and evaluate regional partners based on referral capacity and performance

  • Provide weekly/monthly reporting on regional partnership development progress

  • Collaborate with Bento teams to provide market insights and feedback from your territory

Requirements

  • Experience in building partnerships, events, account management, or B2B sales

  • Passion for collaborating with external stakeholders, with preference given to candidates who have worked in healthcare or related fields

  • Understanding of, and/or a desire to learn about, the regional CBO and healthcare organization landscape

  • Preference for candidates with a knowledge of the medicaid space and 1115 waivers

  • Proficiency with CRM tools and remote collaboration

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills: Can clearly and compellingly explain Bento's mission to diverse audiences

  • Results driven initiative: Work independently, take initiative, and get things done without constant oversight

  • Geographic requirement: Must be based in or have strong connections within assigned NY region

  • Reliable transportation: Must have a car or easy access to reliable public transportation and be willing to travel regularly within assigned region(s)

Contractor Terms

  • Schedule: ~20 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

  • Compensation: $25-35/hour (based on experience)

  • Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

  • Travel: Regular travel within assigned region(s) required

  • Equipment: Reliable remote set up including laptop and cell phone (contractor provides own equipment)
